Research projects
Predictive analytics for tooth loss risk in Brazil
This study aims to develop machine learning models to predict tooth loss risk in the Brazilian population using data from the Health National Survey. The findings could identify individuals at higher risk and facilitate early interventions, ultimately improving the quality of life and reducing the burden of tooth loss in Brazil.Improving the Brazilian Unified Health System: A Data Analytics Approach
Long wait times and overcrowded facilities in the Brazilian Unified Health System (SUS) have been persistent issues, negatively impacting patient satisfaction and life quality. This research proposal aims to use data analytics to gather information on patient flow, medical facilities, and workforce to identify patterns, predict future demand and delays, and develop strategies to reduce waiting times.Privacy-preserving on Brazilian pandemic health data
During the pandemic, individual-level health data was made publicly available. While this availability provided useful data for research on the COVID outbreak, it also had the potential to expose individual medical records. This research project aims to address privacy-preserving techniques for individual medical records in Brazilian public health data, to ensure that sensitive information is protected while enabling valuable research in the fight against the pandemic.
